DTCC bets show off in DSCPI Nationals

DANCESPORT Team Cebu City (DTCC) once again made Cebu proud after dominating the 22nd DanceSport Council of the Philippines Inc. (DSCPI) National DanceSport Championship last Saturday at the Valle Verde Country Club in Pasig City.

DTCC, who competed in all 31 events, garnered 14 gold medals, eight silver and six bronze medals.

Leading DTCC with two gilts each were the pairs of Malvin Jamali and Charlene Mernilo, who topped the Standard D & C; Kharl Michael Miñoza and Sofia Isabella Maree Quilaton, who reigned supreme in the Standard Juvenile C & Latin Juvenile A; Nigel John Angel and Shadelle Niña Hernandez, who lorded in the Standard Juvenile A and Latin Juvenile C; and Niño Salve and Trixie Marie Dicdican, who ruled the Standard Junior C and Latin Junior C.

Contributing a gold each were the tandems of Romeo Jay Cialbo and Mae Pabuaya (Standard Special Event 1-C), John Lloyd Leyson and Ouie Selene Rendon (Standard Junior A), Shardie Abellana and Marjorie Pasaje (Latin SE1C), Latin SE1C (Latin Grade D), Gylle Niño Diluvio and Yeddah Marie Castañares (Latin Youth A) and Anselmo Estillore Jr. and Eleanor O. Hayco, DTCC directress, (Latin SE2A).

Leading the silver finishers were Jasmer Labitad and Lorraine Mae Pacaña via the Latin SE1C and the Latin – C.

Gold medalists tandems of Jamali and Mernilo, Diluvio and Castañares and Abellana and Pasaje also added a silver each via the Standard SE1-C, Standard Youth A and Latin Grade B, respectively.

Accounting for the rest of the silver medals were Andrew Ysla and Noelyn Mie Pdraro (Latin Grade A), Jake Emmanuel Corro and Kim Jocson (Latin Youth C) and Lark Jabonero and Mernillo (Latin Grade D).

Bronze medalists were Sean Alexavier Baclay and Jannah Marie Pugoy (Standard Junior C, Standard & Latin), Lloyd Simon Asuque and Jasmine Kate Labra (Latin Youth A), Dylan Jacob Esmero and Ashly Cullo (Latin Juvenile C), Rouden Estillore and Krisia De Jesus (Latin SE1C) and John Lloyd Leyson and Ouie Selene Rendon (Latin Junior A).
