TOPE Ang drained 25 points including five trifectas as the Gilas Defenders remained unbeaten in the IBP Basketball League after routing the undermanned Spartans, 77-51, last Saturday at the Capitol Parish gym.
Ang also had five assists and a steal while Janjo Sevilla and Van Ligutan added 17 points apiece.
In another game, Eddu Ibañez, the chief legislative officer of Congressman Jonas Cortes, logged a double-double of 20 points and 15 rebounds in leading the Idols past the hard-fighting Badboys, 76-71.
The Idols also got solid support from Marvin Miralles and Talisay City Prosecutor Benjo Macion who chipped in 15 points each to climb to 2-1.
Richard Bauzon led the Badboys with 18 points and 10 boards.
Meanwhile, the Pañeros crushed YLAC, 76-46, behind athletic swingman Benedict Salizon’s 20 markers and 12 boards while the Rebels finally barged into the win column after beating Aniceta Boys, 56-46.
