He planned of surrendering after he celebrates his 31st birthday on November 3.
But Wilfred Cabillo was collared by Mambaling policemen on Thursday afternoon.
Cabillo, who held the rank of Police Officer 1 (PO1) before he went on absence without leave in 2017, was caught while hiding in his house in Barangay Basak San Nicolas, Cebu City.
Police also recovered Glock 17 firearm with ammunition from his possession.
Cabillo is facing charges for violation of the Dangerous Drug Act of 2002, said Chief Insp. Randy Caballes.
A complaint for the possession and peddling of illegal drugs was filed against him in court after personnel from the Regional Special Operations Group raided his Basak San Nicolas home a few months ago.
But Cabillo eludes to his arrest then and has been in hiding since.
Caballes said that Judge Anacieto Debalucos of the Regional Trial Court Branch 17 issued the warrant for Cabillo’s arrest last month.
Acting on a tip that Cabillo was seen in his home, policemen who were armed with a warrant for his arrest went to Basak San Nicolas on Thursday afternoon and enforced his arrest.
Cabillo joined the police force in 2010 but got involved in the illegal drugs trade.
