Shooting victim found to have pending arrest warrants, placed on hospital arrest

A victim of a shooting incident in Barangay Tagbao, Cebu City was handcuffed by the police this afternoon after they found out that he has pending cases in court.

Senior Inspector Alvin Llamedo, Talamban Police Precinct chief, said that

Jury Padintol, 30 and a resident of Sitio Cabaasa of Barangay Tagbao, has been placed on hospital arrest, as he was found to be a subject of separate arrest warrants for homicide and illegal drug cases, respectively.

Padintol was standing along the road near the public elementary school in Barangay Tagbao on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018, when he was shot twice, hitting him in the right shoulder and chin, with the second bullet lodging on his neck.

It was while he was he was being treated at the Don Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) in uptown Cebu City when authorities learned about his pending cases.

According to Llamedo. their investigation showed that Padintol was a subject of a drug bust operation earlier this year by the Talamban police’s drug enforcement unit but he was able to elude arrest.

Authorities, meanwhile, eyed personal grudge as the likely motived in last Thursday’s attempt on Padintol’s life but they were mum on the identity of the suspect.
