Cebu City eyes fourth straight win

THE CEBU City Sharks-Casino Ethyl Alcohol gun for a fourth straight victory when they take on the Pasig Pirates in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Datu Cup today at the People Center in Bataan.

The Sharks have won three in a row and now have a 4-8 (win-loss) card, tied for seventh place in the South division of this tournament helmed by boxing great, Manny Pacquiao.

Cebu City is coming off a 78-74 victory over the Marikina Shoemasters, a win made possible by the clutch shotmaking of perimeter sniper, Patrick Jan Cabahug.

The team’s new additions, Gayford Rodriguez and Edrian Lao, also had a significant impact with the former University of the Visayas standouts scoring 15 and 11 markers, respectively.

The Pirates, in spite of their league-worst 2-9 record, should not be taken lightly, especially with their core composed of Letran Knights greats such as Boyet Bautista, Kojack Melegrito, Jonathan Aldave and Ronjay Enrile.
