THE Cebu City Transportation Office (CCTO) has apprehended a total of 14 vehicles for violation of several traffic rules during the observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.
CCTO chief, Francisco Ouano, said they apprehended four motorcycles and 10 four-wheeled vehicles within the two-day holidays, which were observed last Thursday and Friday.
He added that most of them were caught for illegal parking.
“But aside from this, smooth ra atong traffic duol sa mga menteryo. Tanan natong traffic enforcers on duty man during sa kalag-kalag para mu-assist sa traffic,” said Ouano.
(But aside from this, traffic near cemeteries are smooth. All of our traffic enforcers were on duty during All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day to assist traffic flow.)
From October 31 (Wednesday) until yesterday, Saturday (November 3), the CCTO implemented several road closures to give way for those visiting the graves of their loved ones.
These were notable in the vicinities of huge public cemeteries such as Carreta and Calamba.
CCTO also assigned some areas near private and public cemeteries as designated parking areas for visitors who are bringing their vehicles.
Ouano also said that no untoward traffic incidents were reported during Kalag-Kalag which was assessed by authorities as generally peaceful.
