Masada brgy execs surrender 50 illegal gunmaking tools to police

At least 50 tools and equipment in making illegal firearms were surrendered on Friday (Nov. 9) by residents of Barangay Masaba in Danao City to the police after Masaba barangay officials held a dialogue with the residents about the city’s campaign to stop the illegal production of guns.

Supt. Jaime Quiocho, Danao City Station chief, said that 4 electric drills, 3 bench grinders, 6 pattern low receivers, 7 hammers, 30 assorted metal file, and a hand grinder were surrendered to police by the barangay officials.

Quiocho said that they received a call from barangay officials, who turned over the surrendered tools and equipment, to them.

He said the barangay officials convinced the residents, who were gunmakers, to surrender their tools to them.

The dialogue between Barangay Masada officials and residents was part of the city-wide drive of the local government to stop the illegal production of guns in Danao City.
