Teleperformance stays close to league leaders

THE Teleperformance Vipers kept within striking distance of the league leading Accenture Sharks as they walloped the Wipro Tigers, 80-62, in the Elite Classic division of the 2018 Tanduay Athletics E-Leagues for Basketball on Saturday at the City Sports Club-Cebu.

The victory was the Vipers’ 10th in 11 tries, putting them in second place behind the Sharks, which own a 13-1 card.

Jayper Brigoli tallied 22 points and six rebounds to carry the Vipers to the easy win.

In the Evo League, the Kyocera Frontiers handily won over the CTC-BPO Panthers, 72-49, for their 10th victory in 11 tries.

Matthew Grafilo and Ariel Edera relentlessly pounded the Panthers’ defense, the former putting up 20 points, four rebounds, six assists and four steals while the latter had 18 points, 14 rebounds and six assists.

The Tech Mahindra Mighties also emerged from the weekend with a 66-59 win over the JP Morgan and Chase Bankers, to improve to 8-4. Robert Rebano led the way with 18 points while Steve Cabanday had 17.

The SSI Warriors meanwhile, slipped past the Dyninno Jets, 72-68.
