THE San Roque football pitch located in Subangdako, Mandaue City, is one of the oldest football fields in Cebu.
Over the years, its keep has become neglected mostly due to lack of funds.
Thus, a group of football players has decided to hold the 1st San Roque Rehab Football Festival at the San Roque football field on December 15 and 16 to raise funds for the field’s rehabilitation.
According to Lawrence “Soysoy” Colina, a former standout of the National University Bulldogs, who grew up playing at the San Roque pitch, aside from rehabilitating the field, the tournament’s proceeds will also go to the grassroots and youth training of San Roque players.
Categories to be contested are Mix Under 7, Mix U9, Mix U11, Boys 13, B15, B17, Girls 15, G17, Men’s Inter-Company/BPO, and Women’s Inter-Company.
Registration fees for the lower categories are pegged at P800, P1,000 for B17 and G17, then P2,000 for the men’s and women’s inter-company.
