Don Bosco teams make semifinal round of Aboitiz Football Cup

Four Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) Greywolves teams marched into the semifinal rounds in their respective divisions after defeating separate foes in yesterday’s quarterfinal matches of the 16th Aboitiz Football Cup at the Aboitiz Sports Field.

Three teams of DBTC advanced to the semifinals in the under-9 division and one in the under-11 division.

DBTC’s team A annihilated Bright Academy, 8-0, while its teams B and D won over PAREF Springdale and Bright Minds Action Learning Village (BMALV) FC, respectively.

Team B escaped PAREF Springdale, 2-1, while team D blanked BMALV, 2-0.

Lahug FC completed the cast of the semifinalists in the under-9 division after beating Guiseppe FC, 3-2, via penalty shootout.

In the Under-11, Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) defeated Guiseppe FC, 1-2, to make the semis. Joining SHS-AdC in the semifinals are University of San Carlos-Basic Education Department (USC-BED), DBTC team one and Lahug FC team A.

USC-BED won over Dynamo FC,3-1. DBTC edged Cebu International School (CIS), 5-1, while Lahug FC downed Canduman FC, 1-0.

Meanwhile, CIS scored a 3-0 victory over Canduman FC in the boys under-18 division while SHS-AdC’s under-18 team humiliated Saint Augustine International School (SAIS), 11-0.

SHS-AdC’s girls under-18 team bowed down to San Roque Football Club (SRFC), 0-1.

SAIS’ under-18 girls team finished with a draw against CIS, 1-1, in the other match of the under-18 team.
