LILOAN ARREST
Two cousins, whom Central Visayas police believed were suspected members of an organized crime group called Kuratong Baleleng, were arrested in a northern Cebu town on Saturday (Nov. 17).
Cousins Jacinto Obagan, 29, and Richard Obagan, 48, of Ozamiz City were arrested after members of the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7) served the warrants of arrests against them at their rented apartment in Barangay Poblacion, Liloan town, said Chief Supt. Debold Sinas, PRO-7 director, in a phone interview on Saturday.
The arrest warrant was issued by Judge Roy Morallon of Regional Trial Court of Ozamiz City for murder charges filed against them.
Sinas said that the cousins were facing a murder case and were allegedly involved in gun-for-hire operations.
He said that both were allegedly identified by witnesses as the assailants, who allegedly killed a barangay councilman.
The two cousins did not resist arrest, however, Sinas said, no firearm were found in the apartment or were found in their possession.
Sinas said that the Ozamiz City Police had coordinated with them and told them that the cousins whom they suspected to be Kuratong Baleleng members were in Cebu.
Sinas said that they would do a background check on the suspects and would try to find out what they were doing in Cebu.
