Lani Misalucha wishes Golden Cañedo the best in her career

WHAT is Lani Misalucha’s piece of advice to “The Clash” grand champion Golden Cañedo?

Misalucha, who served as one of the judges in GMA’s singing competition, shared her advice to the young Cebuana singer in an interview Mandani Bay’s Thanksgiving concert on November 21 where she was the special guest.

“Just continue with what she loves to do, of course, which is singing. There are a lot of training schools na she can take advantage of,” she told members of Cebu media and bloggers.

Misalucha said that she and fellow judges, Christian Bautista and Ai Ai Delas Alas noticed that Cañedo’s voice started to improve as the competion progressed.

“Actually, at the beginning of the competition, she is only 16, she is so tiny. She is short and petite and payat na payat. Her voice was really thin. Parang bata, pang 16 years old talaga. Na notice namin ilang tapings na, napansin namin nag thicken ‘yung voice n’ya. In other words, merong change sa kanya. May mga developments,” she said.

The Asia’s Nightingale also believes that Cañedo, who is dubbed “The Golden Voice of Cebu,” will do good in her singing career.

“I really wish her well. Maraming magiging opportunities for her. You know, sa pictures she is really cute. Photogenic siya. Even looking at her sa screen sa TV, telegenic siya. I think maraming nagsasabi sa production na she is really a nice young lady. I do hope magiging sikat siya,” she added.

Cañedo was hailed as the first “The Clash” grand winner during the grand finals held September 30. She beat Jong Madaliday a.k.a. “Ang Trending R & B Star ng North Cotabato” during the Ultimate Final Clash.

Other finalists who made it to the grand finals were Garrett Bolden (Olongapo City), Josh Ardonado (Cagayan De Oro), and Miriam Manalo (Pampanga).

Misalucha looked back on the competition’s final stretch, saying both contestants gave their best.

“Actually, iba-iba ang gusto naming manalo. Noong nag laban na silang dalawa, for some reason, siya ‘yung umangat. Ganoon talaga ‘eh, di natin malalaman minsan merong magaling pero at the tail-end of the competition, meron pang mga dark horse,” she added.

Cañedo won P1 million cash prize, house and lot, and a brand new car. She also inked a contract with GMA Artist Center and GMA Records and will be releasing an album soon.
