THE SBP cagers of the University of the Visayas (UV) quickly recovered from their initial defeat by winning their next two games to barge into the finals of the 33rd Milo SBP Passerelle Twin Tournament National Finals on Sunday at the University of the Assumption in San Fernando, Pampanga.
The boys in green lost to La Salle Greenhills, 50-53, on Saturday but got back on the winning track by routing the Corpus Christi School, 74-45, behind double-figure scoring performances from Khian Panerio, who had 14, and Neil Sinoy and Denver Bisnar, who had 12 apiece.
The team of head coach Ronald Bucao also thrashed the International School for Better Beginnings, 57-28, to end the elimination round with a 2-1 (win-loss) record and face off once again against La Salle Greenhills for the championship.
That game was still being played in as of press time.
La Salle finished the elims with a clean 3-0 mark after beating ISBB, 80-28, and Corpus Christi, 53-49.
In the Passerelle division, National University and Corpus Christi were also battling for the title as of this writing.
