WHEN Typhoon Yolanda hit the Visayas area last year, one of the places that had the worst devastation was the city of Ormoc. Hundreds of families lost their livelihood and became homeless.
Globe through their corporate social responsibility (CSR) program called Bangon Pinoy now known as Project Wonderful responded to the needs of the people from the Visayas. In fact Globe was one of the very first to bring help to the affected areas.
With its CSR different products and brands under Globe are putting together efforts to help. Tattoo’s focus is rehabilitation and rebuilding.
Last February 4, Tattoo in partnership with Gawad Kalinga (GK) started building 100 houses in Tambulilid Ormoc. Executives of Globe together with their brand ambassadors Georgina Wilson, Liz Uy, and Mars Miranda headed the building of houses in the GK village. A total of P15M was made by Globe for this rebuilding project, P10M is allotted for the houses and P5M for livelihood program.
According to Ernest Cu President and CEO of Globe, they want to make the village sustainable thus they provide livelihood to the people.
Globe through its CSR programs will also extend and rebuild other areas of the Visayas. All these are part of their ‘Project Wonderful’ – to build a wonderful world for Globe customers.
