One was killed while two were injured in separate stabbing and shooting incidents over the weekend.
Last Sunday, 18-year-old Joseph Bryan Cabase allegedly stabbed and killed the cousin of his girlfriend who is against their relationship.
Cabase and the victim, Fritz Aranses, 35, allegedly argued because the latter does not approve of Cabase’s relationship with his cousin, Jill (not her real name).
The argument led into a fistfight, but they were pacified by their neighbors.
Aranses went home but Cabase allegedly followed him and stabbed him in the neck, ear and back that instantly killed him.
After the incident, Aranse’s relatives allegedly asked Jill to get in touch with her boyfriend and they agreed to meet in front of a school in barangay San Nicolas. When Cabase arrived, the victim’s relatives and neighbors mobbed him.
Aranse’s elder brother, Butch allegedly shot Cabase in the right side of his body.
But Butch denied the accusation. He said they went to the police to give their statement on Aranse’s death but he was surprised that the police arrested him.
SPO4 Rey Cuyos of the Homicide Section said Butch was arrested because a witness identified him as the one who shot Cabase.
