FANS of 80s and 90s soft rock music are sure to find popular Danish rock band called “Michael Learns To Rock” in their playlist.
Composed of Jascha Richter, Mikkel Lentz, and Kare Wanscher, MLTR has produced hits that have become so popular among Filipinos.

The band took their Cebu audience down memory lane in their Dec. 7 concert held at the Grand Pacific Ballroom of Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.

The Cebu concert was part of their Philippine tour, which included shows at the SMX Convention Center in Davao City last
December 4 and at the Sta. Rosa Sports Coliseum in Laguna last December 6.

At the Cebu concert, MLTR opened the show with their songs “Complicated Heart” and “Sleeping Child.”

After the opening number, Richter greeted their fans.

“Hello, Cebu! It’s been a long time since we were here,” he said.

The band’s last concert in the country was held in Manila in 2015.

“It’s been a while since we were here. Do you know why? Because the last time we went here, the three of us got so heartbroken.

We were so heartbroken. We have songs about being heartbroken,” Richter told the audience.

The band then performed their other popular songs, “Breaking My Heart,” “I Still Carry On,” and “Take Me To Your Heart.”

The concert turned into one videoke session as fans sang along to the band’s hits, the lyrics of which were flashed on the light-emitting diode (LED) screen.

Also in the repertoire were the songs, “I’m Gonna Be Around,” “You Took My Heart Away,” “Out of the Blue,” “Paint My Love,” “The Actor,” and “25 Minutes.”

After Cebu, the band performed at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on December 9.

The MLTR Philippine tour was produced by Ovation Productions.
