Mandaue TEAM warns of traffic jam due to road concreting

MOTORISTS passing through the North Reclamation Area are advised to have their trip ahead of schedule as vehicular traffic is expected to go heavy in the area due to the closure of the southbound lanes along Ouano Avenue near the Cebu International Convention Center (CICC) in Mandaue City, which are undergoing repair.

Traffic Enforcement Agency of Mandaue (TEAM) Operations Chief Glenn Antigua said traffic is expected in the area especially when there are big trucks including container trucks.

Thus, vehicles bound for Cebu City are requested to instead turn right towards W. Seno Street, left turn at the back of CICC towards Mantawi Drive, Antigua said.

Cebu City-bound vehicles may also take the alternative route on F.E Zuellig Avenue.

Antigua said drivers have also the option to go straight without taking a turn right beside the CICC by using one of the northbound lanes in front of Parkmall in going to Cebu City.

As for the northbound vehicles, Antigua said motorists can also take the same alternative routes.

Motorists going north who don’t want to take the alternative routes may go straight by using the open lane in front of Parkmall.

“Kon gikan sa Cebu City, going straight ra man. Kon gikan sa UC Med or Parkmall kay agi sa Mantawi Drive, W. Seno and left turn sa A. Soriano,” he said.

Antigua asked motorists for their patience.

“We ask for their patience for the inconvience brought about by the road construction,” Antigua said in Cebuano.

He said six TEAM personnel will be assigned in the area to facilitate the traffic.

The road concreting of the two-kilometer stretch of Ouano Avenue that connects S. Osmeña Road in North Reclamation Area, Cebu City and Plaridel Street in Mandaue City is done by the Department of Public Works and Highways in Central Visayas (DPWH-7) with an estimated value of P169 million.
