THE MIGHTY Batch 1990 emerged victorious once again as they claimed the title in the 11th Damazo Cup with a 91-74 beating of Batch 1997 in the finals last Sunday at the University of San Jose-Recoletos open gym in Basak.

The Batch 1990 trio of Vince Castro, ex-pro Leode Garcia and Rowel Sumalinog proved too much to handle for Batch 1997 as they combined for a whopping 66 points in the title-clinching victory.

Castro finished with 26 points while Garcia and Sumalinog had 20 markers each to push Batch 1990 to the top.

Castro was eventually named the season and the finals Most Valuable Player and was joined on the Mythical Five squad by Garcia, 1997’s Henjie Cabo and Jerry Dacalos and Jake Diamante of 2009.

Dacalos scored 24 in 1997’s losing cause.
