“SOBRA pa sa sulit.”

This was the assurance of “Jack Em Popoy: The Puliscredibles” lead star Vic Sotto to moviegoers who will watch their film, one of the entries to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival.

Sotto, together with costars Maine Mendoza and Coco Martin spoke to members of Cebu’s Entertainment Group after their mall show at Robinsons Galleria Cebu last December 15.

A motorcade, which was also joined in by the film’s other stars, Lito Lapid and Mark Lapid, was held in the morning of the same day.

“Bihira mangyari to ‘eh. Pamilyang pinagsanib. Pamilyang ‘Ang Probinsyano’ at ‘Eat Bulaga’,” Sotto said, referring to thecountry’s longest running noontime show of which he and Mendoza are co-hosts, as well as Martin’s top-rating primetime teleserye.
During the promotional tour, the members of the cast showed no network rivalry as they promoted both “Eat Bulaga!” which airs on GMA Network, as well as ABS-CBN’s “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.”

Asked how confident he is that the movie will top MMFF 2018, Sotto jokingly said, “Baka maging higit pa.”

“Hindi namin iniisip ‘yun. Iniisip namin na marami kaming mapasaya sa aming pelikula na pinag isipan, hindi lang basta
pelikula. Hindi namin basta ma i-kwento ‘eh kasi ma gi-give away ‘yung istorya. Pag napanood nila, sobra pa sa sulit ang pamaskong ibabayad,” Sotto said of their film which opens on Christmas Day.

In the movie, the three portray police officers. Sotto plays Popoy, father of Mendoza’s character, Em while Martin is Jack.
Martin said he was happy to be given the chance to work with Sotto.

ABS-CBN’s Primetime King said the movie is intended for all families that want to enjoy Christmas.

“Goal namin kasi ‘yung Eat Bulaga parang pang pamilya at saka ako rin may pamilya sa ‘Ang Probinsyano,’ bakit hindi natin mapag kombisyanunan para mas maganda,” Martin said.

He added that families will learn a lot from the movie.

“Ilagay na natin lahat—action, comedy, romance, drama at ‘yung values sa kabataan at pamilya,” he said.

Mendoza, who did action for the first time, said she had a blast working with both Sotto and Martin.

“Well, di ako makapaniwala. Na enjoy ko siya. Noong una kasi, challenging siya for me since first time ko mag action bilang pulis. Di ko naman siya basta basta biruin dahil pulis ‘to,” she said.

The Phenomenal Star also revealed that Martin helped her execute some of the action scenes.

“Oo, sa mga action scenes. Kasi ang naging training ko lang naman ay ‘yung firing. So, siya nag tuturo sa akin kung paano i-execute ‘yung iba. Siyempre, hindi naman ako action star. Hindi lang sa action scenes but sa lahat ng eksena namin together,” she said.

Mendoza said she is excited for the film’s outcome and hopes to work on more action projects in the future.
