GLOBAL Business Power recently held a Christmas celebration for at least 400 children of its adopted barangays in Toledo City.
Two hundred of these children were indigents from Daanlungsod, Sangi, Luray 2, Poblacion and Cambang-ug, the adopted barangays of GBP.
The remaining 200 were GBP scholars, with 97 from elementary, 86 from junior high school, 24 from senior high school.
“GBP is here to bring light and create electricity that powers society and industries allowing its people to also grow, progress and fulfill their dreams,” said Engr. Leah Diaz, GBP’s First Vice President – Cebu Operations.
The party, which GBP conducts every year, featured games, raffle, and gift giving for the participants.
“The gathering is just one of the activities that GBP does to support the children who are the future leaders of the nation,” Diaz added, highlighting that GBP invests in the future of Toledo through scholarship and other social development programs.
For years, GBP seeks to make a positive difference and build significant relationships in places where its power plants are located.
GBP further aims to become a reliable and trusted partner in the community that is why it has other community initiatives aside from Educational Assistance. These are Environment Conservation, Health and Wellness and Social Development.
GBP is one of the leading independent operators in the Visayas, operating 11 power generation facilities in Cebu, Iloilo, Aklan, and Mindoro. In 2017, the company acquired a 50% stake in Mindanao-based Alsons Thermal Energy Corporation. /PR
