CEBU CITY, Philippines — The incumbent barangay captain of Magsico of San Fernando town was shot dead in the town’s Barangay South Poblacion in the evening of Wednesday, January 16.
San Fernando Mayor Neneth Retuya told Cebu Daily News Digital by phone that the slain village chief, Johnny Arriesgado, who was also councilor when he was the president of the Association of Barangay Councils (ABC) of the southern Cebu town.
Initial reports from the San Fernando Police revealed that the barangay chief was ambushed near the town center while inside his car.
