CEBU CITY, Philippines — Police Deputy Director General Archie Francisco Gamboa, chief for Operations of the Philippine National Police (PNP), commended the Police Regional office in Central Visayas (PRO-7) for its “incomparable” performance in law enforcement.
In a press conference after the program for the 28th founding anniversary celebration of the PNP held at the Camp Sergio Osmeña on Monday, February 11, Gamboa said the accomplishments of PRO-7 should be a benchmark for the other regional police offices to follow, especially that the May midterm elections is drawing closer.
“Incomparable ang accomplishment sa PRO-7 kung imong ibutang sa national perspective. Why? Because walay adlaw nga mo labay nga walay accomplishment in Region 7. This indicates nga naay good leadership ug dunay good followers,” Gamboa said.
Prior to the press conference, PRO-7 director Chief Superintendent Debold Sinas presented the accomplishment and comparative reports on the performance of the Central Visayas police units in 2018.
Based on Sinas’ report, PRO-7’s 2018 accomplishments in illegal drug operations outweighed their records in 2017, confiscating over 47 kilos of shabu (crystal meth) and arresting almost 10,000 drug pushers and users.
“I even encourage the other PROs to be at par with the accomplishment of the PRO-7 and on how they have driven law enforcement,” Gamboa said.
“This could be a motivation for the other regional offices to follow PRO-7 in their quest for a peaceful and harmonious situation in the different parts of their PROs,” he added. /bmjo
