Coach eyes 4 golds for Prisaa-7 lawn tennis team

PRIVATE Schools Athletic Association (Prisaa)-7 men’s lawn tennis head coach Fritz Tabura said he is optimistic his team will be able to bring home four gold medals in the coming Prisaa National Meet in Tagum, Davao on April 6 to 12.
“We’re ready for the National Prisaa,” Tabura said after seeing his wards play in the 1st Torion’s Invitational Men’s Doubles tennis tournament at the Pardo Tennis court in Pardo. “Dako kaayo ta ug chances to win the gold sa team event kay naa man sila (Bernardine) Siso and others. Ang ato pud nga women’s team dako pud ug chances maka gold kay ang mga players ni coach Adonis Lominoque apil man sila ni Sallydine ug Sally Mae (Siso),” he added.
Tabura said the Torion tournament is a huge help for the team.
“Dako jud kayo ug tabang sa mga players ni nga tournament kay mao ni usa sa ilang tune-up matches before sa nationals,” Tabura said.
He said it is almost sure Prisaa-7 will take the four gold medals from the men’s lawn tennis team event but added that he’s hoping they will also snare the golds from other categories like the individual singles, doubles and mixed doubles.
“Ang amo nalang next step mangita mi ug hardcourt nga ka praktisan kay clay court man ni diri sa Pardo unya didto sa Tagum hardcourt man ila duwaan,” Tabura said.
University of San Carlos (USC) Warriors ace netters Bernadine Nino Siso and Fritz Satera won the title in the Torion tourney, while their Prisaa-7 teammates University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars ace RJ Abarquez, Jet-Jet Pintor and Mac-Mac Enriquez also saw action. /Correspondent JADE S.
