THE RAIN or Shine Elasto Painter will try to get the most out of the second lease on life they gained while the San Mig Coffee Mixers are out to finally end it all as they clash for Game 6 of the 39th PBA Philippine Cup best-of-seven finals Wednesday night at the Araneta Coliseum.
The Elasto Painters withstood tremendous pressure, bucking outright elimination by hacking out an 81-74 victory in last Sunday’s Game 5.
“I told the boys we can’t lose that sense of destiny. Even if we’re behind, it’s not over. We have to believe in ourselves and stay positive. A win like this can turn around the complexion of the series,” Rain or Shine head coach Yeng Guiao said shortly after the crucial win.
Rain or Shine still trails in the series, 2-3, but the Game 5 victory left San Mig little room for error.
“We’ll try to delay or postpone the celebration of San Mig. If we can delay it enough, it can be our celebration,” Guiao added./EDITORIAL ASSISTANT CALVIN D. CORDOVA
