CEBU CITY, Philippines — A raid in a suspected drug den in Barangay Lorega in Cebu City on Tuesday, February 12 led to the arrest of a common-law couple and seven others and the confiscation of an estimated P80,000 worth of suspected shabu.
Angelina Pordas, 51, and her common-law husband, Wilson Gomez, 48, were arrested after they were caught with 12 grams of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in their house at past noon in Sitio Laguna of the barangay, said IA1 (Intelligence Agent 1) Jessie Cabutotan of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas (PDEA-7).
Cabutotan said that they raided the house owned by the couple, whom they believed was a drug den, after an undercover agent bought the suspected shabu from the couple.
He said they also arrested Jessie Agapay, Jhunrey Estudillo, Alfred Muit, Fernando Aronalles, Argie Icoy, Richard Tulda, and Pablo Nases Jr., who were inside the house when the raid was conducted.
The raid happened two hours earlier from the drug raid in a house in Barangay Duljo Fatima in the city where a kilo of suspected shabu was confiscated.

Cabutotan said that they conducted the operation against the Pordas and Gomez, whom they considered high value targets after they received reports from residents and barangay officials about the illegal activities of Pordas and Gomez.
He said that they verified the reports, confirmed that the common-law couple were maintaining a drug den in the area, and conducted the operation.
Pordas and Gomez refused to comment when Cebu Daily News Digital asked them for a reaction about their arrest./dbs
