Consolacion cops warn bank robbers: Not in our town

CEBU CITY, Philippines – Bank robbers are not safe in Consolacion town.

This was the assurance given by the police during a security dialogue with bank officials on Wednesday morning, February 13.

“Consolacion is not safe for bank robbers and be assured that you will not be able to get out of Consolacion unharmed should you attempt undermining the security of our banks,” town police said in a  Facebook post at 1 p.m. today.

Chief Insp. Gerard Ace Pelare, chief of the Consolation Police Station, called for the dialogue to forge partnership with officials of the different banks operating in the northern town.

During their discussions, Senior Police Officer 3 (SPO3) Emerito Sansan, chief investigator of the Consolation Police Station, gave tips on how banks can improve their security which include the need to install alarm systems and establish proper coordination with the police.

Sansan also presented a slideshow and video clips of the most common modus used by bank robbers and shared tips on how these can be prevented.

Before the gathering ended, police and bank officials also agreed to hold different activities aimed at enhancing bank security.

Pelare also made a presentation of his 2018 yearend report with emphasis on the best practices which they adopted during the year.
