Governor’s Cup 2019: Naga wins vs. San Fernando

CEBU CITY, Philippines – Naga City took down San Fernando, 73-67, to get their third win in four games in the 2019 Governor’s Cup basketball tournament on Saturday, March 23, at the Carcar City gym.

The win kept Naga City close to reigning champions Talisay City, which leads the first district with an unblemished 3-0 win-loss record.

In other games in the first district, Carcar did not let their fans down as they drubbed Sibonga, 78-61 to even their record up at 2-2 and tie with San Fernando.

Over in the second district, Samboan grabbed its fourth win in as many games with a 93-79 rout of the visiting Alcoy.

Santander was also victorious, defeating Boljoon, 70-68.

Meanwhile, Tuburan gave their home fans something to cheer for as they annihilated Barili, 106-75.  Tuburan now sports a 3-1 win-loss record.

In the fourth district, Madridejos now holds a 4-0 win-loss record with their 102-90 win over Tabogon while San Remigio edged Santa Fe, 81-77.

Bogo City also emerged with a 78-68 victory over Tabuelan./dcb
