CEBU CITY — Honesty is still the best policy.
A security guard and an accounting staff of the Cebu Provincial Government proved that when they returned the wallets they found in two separate occasions. Both employees found the wallets on the premises of the Capitol.
For showing integrity and honesty, Marlon Batoon and Analie Amanuence were honored by the Cebu Provincial Government’s Human Resource Management Office on Monday morning, March 25, 2019.
Batoon found the wallet near the Palace of Justice on January 31. The wallet contained identification cards, which was returned to its owner last March 21.
On the other hand, Amanuence of the Provincial Accounting Office reported on March 12, 2019 that she found a wallet with cash and identification cards. The wallet was eventually turned over to its owner, who hails from Barili, Cebu.
Batoon and Amanuence were presented with certificates of recognition for their honest deeds. The recognition was given to the two employees through the Capitol’s Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) Committee.
Teresa Redoble, president of the Provincial Employees Association of Cebu (PEACE), said this is not the first time that they awarded employees for upholding the values that is expected of a public servant.
“Dili lang kay nga nag-apas sila sa award, being public servants dapat nila i-uphold gyud ang dignidad sa pagpanarabaho. Proud gyud mi ani ilang gipakita’” she said.
