CEBU CITY, Philippines — Backlight Films Production is expected to release its first Lenten drama presentation titled, “Isugid Sa Mga Langit.”
Badidi Labra, the drama presentation’s co-director, confirmed to Cebu Daily News Digital that it would air from April 18 to 21 on Cebu Catholic Television Network (CCTN).
“The story is about forgiveness and acceptance,” Labra said.
“Isugid Sa Mga Langit” is headlined by Labra, James Ezekiel, Dulcita Siroy, and Samantha Midel.
It is about Mar (Labra), who lost a young sister named Lena, and how Mar deals with the situation when he learns about Lena’s killer named Danilo (Ezekiel).
“Mag expect jud ang viewers og more quality, and movie feels sa kini na project. Mostly, mo ingon sila na OA daw ang Bisaya na salida sa TV but this project will change their minds,” Labra said.
(The viewers will expect more quality and movie feels in this project. Many would say that the Bisaya television series are OA, but this project will change their mind.)
Aside from Labra, Rey Samaco will also be directing “Isugid sa Mga Langit.”
The series’ official soundtrack is “Kristo, Ginoo Kaloy-i Kami” performed by Cerj Michael.
The Lenten drama series is Backlight Films’ first television project.
This is also the same production company which helmed the short film, “Nueva Oro”, one of the finalists during the Sinulog Short Film Festival 2019./dbs
