Cebu City, Philippines — Carmen took the solo lead in the standings after they squashed Poro, 75-58, in the 9th Congressman Red Durano Cup basketball tournament on Thursday, March 29, 2019, on their home floor in Carmen town, northern Cebu.
Dennis Jayson led the way for Carmen as he scored 19 points while Kenneth Watin was just as vital to their cause, scoring 18 of his own.
Carmen now totes a 3-0 win-loss record.
Not to be outdone, Borbon kept in step with the leaders in the standings as they edged Tudela, 63-61, behind the 14 points of John Bercero and the 11 of Wilfred Delmar.
Catmon meanwhile, snatched their first win of the competition, routing Pilar, 66-55. Kobe Cole put up 21 markers to push Catmon into the winning track. /bmjo
