CEBU CITY, Philippines —The University of San Jose Recoletos (USJ-R) Balamban FC remained on track in retaining its Under 7 title after advancing to the semifinals in the second season of the Grassroots Football League (GFL).
The GFL will come to an end this Saturday, April 6, 2019, at the football pitch of PAREF Springdale in barangay Lahug.
USJ-R Balamban FC advanced to the semifinals after sweeping the elimination round, winning all of its five games for a total of 15 points.
The defending champions hope to once again bag a finals ticket as they go up against Singapore School Cebu, which claimed the final spot in the top four with two wins and three loses equivalent to six points.
The other finals ticket will be contested by Giuseppe FC and PAREF Springdale.
Giuseppe FC advanced to the final four at the second spot after conceding one of its matches for a total of 12 points.
PAREF Springdale ended the elimination at the third spot with nine points after a 3-2 win-loss record. /bmjo
