Cebu City, Philippines — Tomjone “Wardog” Mangubat of Omega Boxing suffered his first loss in his boxing career after losing via technical knockout in the 8th round of his World Boxing Council (WBC) Asia Silver Featherweight bout against Arnel “Silencer” Baconaje of Pasay City in the main event of #Kumbati 2 at the Parkmall Piazza Rotunda on Friday evening, April 5, 2019.
Mangubat was leading in the scorecard when he got hit by a right overhand of Baconaje in the 1:37 mark of round 8 that sent him sprawling on the canvass.
Mangubat tried to get up and beat the referees’ countdown but remained crouched down, prompting the referee to declare Baconaje as the winner. /bmjo
