CEBU CITY, Philippines – A ship carrying over 1,900 passengers from Manila bound for Cebu City suffered engine malfunction a few minutes before it was expected to dock in Pier 6 of Cebu City.
Report from the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) – Tinago Substation showed that M/V St. John Paul, owned and operated by 2GO Shipping, suffered engine trouble while sailing through Lauis Ledge within the vicinity of Talisay City and Cordova town past 9 a.m. on Tuesday, April 9, 2019.
PCG-Tinago Substation immediately deployed three tugboats to pull the ship to its berth in Pier 6.
All 1,952 passengers on board were safe from harm, and disembarked the vessel safely.
