MANDAUE CITY, Cebu, Philippines — The fire that broke out on Lopez Jaena St. in Barangay Subangdaku damaged a garments factory, which is located in the same compound where some family members of the building’s owner live.

Senior Fire Officer 2 Edgar Vergara, the chief investigator of the fire incident, said the building is owned by a man named Samson Tiu, who also has residential houses within the same compound as the garments factory.

The second alarm was raised at 9:39p.m.

The fire was declared confined at 9:53 p.m. This means that the fire will not affect the neighboring structures.
