CEBU CITY, Philippines—The Cebu Provincial Commission on Women and Children (PCWC) is allocating a P50, 000 cash assistance to aid the family of the 14-year-old girl whose body was found dumped in a septic tank in Danao City.
In a statement, PCWC also expressed condemnation of the girl’s brutal killing.
“We condemn the brutal killing of 14-year-old Thesa Marie Ygay of Danao City. We are deeply disturbed and saddened by Thesa’s ruthless and senseless death. (The girl) would have had a promising and bright future,” PCWC’s statement reads.

The Commission chaired by Vice Governor Agnes Magpale also urged parents and the youth to always “exercise more caution” in dealing with people especially those who are not related to them.
At the same time, PCWC also asked the public to provide information that will led to the arrest of security guard Jessie Medequillo, whom police named as the primary suspect in Ygay’s death.
“The Provincial Government is offering its full support to the police force to help in its investigation and resolution of this crime. We echo the request of the Danao City Police force to those who can provide leads or information on the whereabouts of the perpetrator,” said the PCWC statement.
“To the family and loved ones Thesa has left behind, we extend our deepest condolences and prayers in their time of loss and grief. The Provincial Government, through PCWC, will be extending financial assistance to her bereaved family.” /dcb
