CITY OF CALBAYOG, SAMAR — The family of a slain orthodontist here remains clueless as to the motive behind the killing of their family matriarch, who was gunned down by unknown suspects on Monday, April 15, between 4:30 to 5 p.m.

Dr. Vicky Rumohr, 69, was gunned down by riding-in-tandem suspects while she was driving her pick-up truck in the vicinity of Christian New Life Academy along Magsaysay Extension, Calbayog proper.

The single gunshot pierced through her left cheek and out her nape.

According to witnesses, the vehicle came to a halt only after her vehicle hit a concrete barrier.

Responders said Rumohr died on the spot.

Authorities at Calbayog town have not identified any suspect as of this time and are still investigating the incident.

However, the family revealed that in 2018, Rumohr’s niece, Catherine Rumohr-Johnson was also gunned down. Suspects and the motive behind the crime remain unsolved to this day.

Based on commentaries on the Facebook page of the Calbayog Journal, Dr. Rumohr was a kind-hearted woman who was well loved by her family, friends and community.

The remains of Rumohr lie in state at the family mausoleum in Calbayog.
