CEBU CITY, Philippines – – A portion of San Fernando town’s road will be closed at 6 p.m. today, April 19, 2019 for the observance of the Good Friday procession.
Jonathan Tumulak, focal person on traffic management of the Cebu Provincial Government, made the announcement on his Facebook account at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2019.
Tumulak reminded southbound travelers to carefully plan their trip to avoid the traffic congestion in the San Fernando area.
“There is a diversion road for the public vehicles, although large vehicles cannot pass through it since it’s very narrow. There is a (traffic) enforcer stationed in the highway to guide them,” Tumulak said.
Father Lucio Matela of San Isido Labrador Parish Church said the procession will run for one to two hours.
The following is the route of the procession according to Tumulak:
- From the church, right turn to the National Highway
- Left turn to YBO
- Left turn on the way to Complex
- Left turn to Ganing
- Left turn on the way to North Poblacion Barangay Hall
- Left turn on the way back to YBO
- Left turn to National Highway and go back inside the Church
