How to celebrate Earth Day by winding down in Cebu

CEBU CITY, Philippines — Spontaneous holidays are always great, especially to places that you’ve never been before but are near to where you are staying.

As we celebrate Earth Day this April 22, we’ll give you a heads up about what it’s like to travel within Cebu while basking in the beauty of Nature.

Beaches

Cebu is not an island for nothing. This Earth Day, bask under the sun and spend chill days by the beach paired with a good book or an awesome company. Just remember to not leave any traces of trash while you enjoy the beach gently lapping on your feet.

Waterfalls

Traveling down south might be far, but the scenic view of the Kawasan Falls hidden inside the lush forest of Badian can be all worth the long trip. A trek at the Kawasan falls is the place to be for chasing waterfalls especially for the adrenaline junkies.

It maybe quite far to travel to Badian town, located 104 km southwest from Cebu City or a three-hour travel period, but the natural wonders it holds will truly give a rejuvenating therapy.

Mountain Climbing

Cebu has several peaks that are easy for beginners with safe pathways and friendly terrains.

All you need to do is to check out several mountaineering groups, many of whom are more than happy to welcome new outdoor enthusiasts. Still, remember, though, not to leave your trash while you do your climb.

This Earth Day, give yourself and Mother Earth a break and enjoy the wonders she has to offer especially those that are close to where you are but you haven’t been at yet.
