Governor’s Cup semifinal games resume on Monday

CEBU CITY, Philippines – The hunt for precious slots in the semifinals round in the 2019 Governor’s Cup basketball tournament continues on Monday with games slated to be played in Balamban and Alegria towns.

In Bracket A, Medellin and Balamban try to move up in the standings as they take on Argao and Samboan, respectively, over at the Mayor Exasperanza Binghay Sports Complex in Balamban.

Medellin and Balamban each have identical 2-1 win-loss records to stand behind the unbeaten Mandaue City, which has a 3-0 mark.

Dumanjug and Danao City will also clash in the curtain-raiser at 4:30 p.m.

Only the top two finishers at the end of this round-robin quarterfinal stage will get to advance to the crossover semifinals.

Moving over to Bracket B, reigning champions Talisay City and Tuburan will try to keep their unbeaten records intact when they face off against Minglanilla and Sogod, respectively, at the Alegria Sports Complex.

Talisay and Tuburan have gotten off to a fast start in this phase of the competition, boasting similar 2-0 slates. Alegria and Tabuelan will cap this triple-header off at 7:30 p.m./dcb
