CEBU CITY, Philippines — Two siblings were arrested after they were caught with an estimated P200,000 worth of suspected shabu in an anti-illegal drug operation in Talisay City in the late afternoon of April 22.

Edwin Enriquez, 54, of Barangay Tubod in Pinamungajan town, and his sister, Janette Sabanal, 53, of Sitio Sunrise, Barangay Bulacao, Talisay City, were arrested during a buy-bust operation at past 6 p.m., said Police Captain Alejandro Batobalonos, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) chief, in an interview with CDN Digital on April 22.

Batobalonos said that the buy-bust operation was also done inside a pension house allegedly owned by the slain drug lord Jeffrey “Jaguar” Diaz.

He said the undercover police officer bought suspected shabu from Enriquez and then asked for more.

Enriquez then called Sabanal, who delivered the drugs at the pension house.

When Sabanal arrived and delivered the suspected shabu, police then moved in and arrested the siblings.

Batobalonos said that the suspected shabu confiscated from the siblings had an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P258,000.

He also said that they believed that Sabanal was allegedly the drug supplier in the area.

Enriquez and Sabanal were detained at the Cebu Provincial Police Office detention cell pending the filing of charges. | dbs
