Cebu City, Philippines—A man’s burst of happiness was cut short because of his alleged involvement in illegal drugs.

The police on early Tuesday, April 23, 2019, arrested 22-year-old Marvin Bordo in a buy-bust operation in Sitio Mojon 1, Barangay Tisa here.

It was learned that Bordo had just gotten into a relationship on Easter Sunday, April 21, after getting the nod of a girl he was courting.

However, his luck ran out barely two days after when he was caught by the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Waterfront Police Station (Station 3) in a buy-bust operation at around 1 a.m. on Tuesday.

Police Major Joemar Pomarejos, chief of Station 3, led the operation.

Seized from Bordo, a resident in the barangay where he was caught, were 30 sachets of alleged illegal drugs worth an estimated P14,000.

Pomarejos believes Bordo is the source of drugs of those they arrested in previous operations in the area.

The suspect, though, denied that the sachets of alleged illegal substance were his, saying they were just left with him by a certain Diego.

Before getting into a new relationship, Bordo said he used to live with someone until their relationship turned sour and eventually broke up.

He would have started a new relationship with a new girl but instead will be facing illegal drugs charges. He is currently detained at the Waterfront Police Station. /bmjo
