Gerald Alburo Jr., Niño’s older brother, said his younger brother is not involved in the illegal drug trade, which is contrary to claims made by police that his brother is linked with a drug lord from the town of Medellin, northern Cebu.

Gerald requested media representatives to refrain from believing all information given by the police because some of them are erroneous reports.

Gerald said his brother visited his ailing grandmother in Cebu City.

Niño, 26, lived in Barangay Bacawan, Daanbantayan town in northern Cebu before coming to Cebu City.

Gerald said his brother brought with him documents and papers because he was ready to look for a job in the city.

He said the family cries for justice and hopes that the police can immediately capture the criminals who killed his younger brother.

Gerald also hopes that the perpetrators’ conscience will bother them so they will personally surrender to police and serve their time in prison.

Niño’s body was discovered by a motorcycle-for-hire driver sprawled face down at the side of the road past 11 p.m. on Good Friday, April 19, 2019 in Barangay Casili. / celr
