CEBU CITY, Philippines—Cebuano motorcycle riders are in for a tough challenge when Cebu hosts the first ever Mobil Super Moto-Endurance Ride 2019 North Loop on May 18, 2019.
Around 700 motorcycle riders are expected to join the event, which is a 300-kilometer ride around the northern part of Cebu.
The ride will not only test the determination and mettle of an average rider but also provide an adequate challenge to seasoned motorcycle riders.
The endurance ride kicks off 11 p.m. on May 18 at the Mandaue North Drive at the North Reclamation Area in Mandaue City.
Riders will pass through a scenic route to the northern towns of Daanbantayan, San Remigio and Balamban before heading back to where they started.
There will be four categories in the race—100-299cc, 300-599cc, 600-999cc and the 1000cc and up. Top finishers from all categories will receive plaques, medals and certificates.
Checkpoints will be spread along the route: one in Daanbantayan, one in San Remigio and one in Balamban.
Riders are expected to be back at 5 a.m. on May 19. An awarding ceremony will be held after everyone has arrived.
Registration will be from May 4 to 11 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Motology office near Cafe Racer at the North Reclamation Area in Mandaue City. Registration fee is pegged at P2,000.
There will be a one-day early bird registration on April 27 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Race and Trail MotoShop located in front of Part’ebelle Seafood Restaurant at the North Reclamation Area in Cebu City. The early bird fee is pegged at P1,500.
Those who will miss out the above dates will still have the chance to register on May 17, also from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the kick off point at the North Drive.
During this day, there will be a clinic and motorcycle displays for motorcycle enthusiasts. /bmjo
