CEBU CITY, Philippines — The Metropolitan Cebu Water District (MCWD) has warned consumers of limited water supply in some areas in Cebu City starting tomorrow, April 25.
In a Store Water Advisory, MCWD announced that on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays water will be available for Tisa Hills, Felina Village, Villa Isidra, F. Llamas St., part of San Jose Village, Dona Maria Villages 1 & 2, part of Punta Princesa, Gochan St., Mambaling, and part of Tres de Abril.
There will be low pressure to no water on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays in these areas. Meanwhile, on those days, water will be available in the areas of Salvador St., Fortich St., Horseshoe Drive, Happy Valley, Englis in Banawa, M. Velez St., Capitol Site, and Espina Village.
These areas will not have any supply on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

“Elevated and interior portions of these areas can only store water during off peak hours or estimated within 1 a.m. to 5 a.m.,” said MCWD through the post.
The MCWD encouraged the consumers to store water on the days they would have supply.
The rationing of water supply is brought by the ill-effects of the El Niño phenomenon predominanting the country’s weather system this dry hot season.

The Buhisan dam stopped producing supply since March while recently, the Jaclupan dam has diminished supply from 33,000 cubic meters daily to 9,000 cubic meters daily.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Sciences Association said in previous statements that the El Niño would be expected to last until early June. /dbs
