CEBU CITY, Philippines — Police are looking for the man identified as the gunman of the bouncer, who was killed outside a bar in Mandaue City last November 2018.
This developed after Judge Joe Noel C. Lawas, Regional Trial Court Branch 28 in Mandaue City issued a warrant of arrest against Jericho “Moymoy” Acob, of Barangay Lorega, Cebu City, who is accused of shooting to death Jun-Jun Laroa, 20, on November 19, 2018.
Judge Lawas issued the warrant of arrest against Acob last April 15, 2019 for the charge of murder.
Acob was positively identified in a footage of the security camera of the bar showing the deadly shooting attack against Laroa.
Colonel Julian Entoma, Mandaue City Police Office chief, confirmed in a phone interview on April 26 that they had received the arrest warrant and they had started looking for Acob.
Last November 19, 2018, Laroa tried to pacify two rowdy groups in the club that he was working on.
At dawn that day, Laroa was standing outside the bar’s door when a man, later identified as Acob in a CCTV footage allegedly showed how Acob allegedly shot and killed Laroa.
A sister-in-law of the victim, Jeju Villaver, claimed that it took five months for the court to issue a warrant of arrest against Acob, because she claimed that the bar management allegedly took that long to release the footage of the security camera showing the deadly attack on Laroa.
With this, the victim’s brother, Gilbert Laroa, said that they were seeking help from the city government in catching the killer of his brother./dbs
