CEBU CITY, Philippines – The charred body of an old woman, who was believed to have been trapped at the comfort room of her burnt home in Sitio Silangan 2, Barangay Tejero, Cebu City, was found by a neighbor late this afternoon.
Lilian Intrampas, 66, was first declared missing shortly after the fire broke past 4 p.m. on Friday, April 26, said Fire Chief Insp. Noel Nelson Ababon, chief of the city’s fire department.
Ababon said that a certain Mely Redoblado, Intrampas’ neighbor, discovered the latter’s already charred body at the comfort room of her burnt home at around 4:45 p.m. today, April 27.
Intrampas body was already retrieved by personnel of the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and brought to a funeral parlor in the city for processing.

Members of the Tejero barangay council convened earlier today to place the fire site in Sitio Silangan 2 under a state of calamity to facilitate the use of the barangay’s calamity funds to aid the affected families.
The Department of Social Welfare and Services (DSWS) has so far listed at least 200 homes that were burned by the Friday afternoon fire leaving 313 families consisting of 1,328 individuals homeless.
Fire victims included nine pilgrims of the National Youth Day 2019 who were staying with foster families in Barangay Tejero.
BFP also recorded at least three persons who were injured during the fire incident.

Barangay Captain Hermogenes Galang Jr. is asking for donations of clothing and food from kind hearted Cebuanos.
“I-hangyo nako, kana lang gyung mga sanina, o mga personal, kung naa poy dry goods sama sa de lata, okay ra pod para ato i-distribute sa mga taw (I appeal for donations of clothing and other personnal items and dry goods like canned goods that we can distribute to the fire victims ,” said Galang./dcb
