CEBU CITY, Philippines— Bubble milk tea (or pearl milk tea) is one of the biggest beverage trends all over the world today.

People of all ages are craving for milk tea, with extra amount of pearls, which has developed into a comfort drink for many of us. 

Although there has been a prevailing tea culture in China for thousands of years, the pearl milk tea culture is said to be developed in the 1980s in Taiwan.

Milk tea is a beverage that combines the invigorating goodness of tea and nourishing taste of milk. Pearls or bubbles — and several other kinds of “surprises” — add extra texture and taste to the drink.
