Shooting in Talisay City and Lapu-Lapu claim three lives

Talisay City, Cebu—Two separate shooting incidents in Cebu on Thursday morning, May 2, 2019, led to the death of three persons.

In Barangay Tabunok, Talisay City, Cebu, Chris Quinones and Joy Cansancio were shot dead at around 6 a.m. by a still unidentified gunman.  Another person, Jonieme Cabanero Cortez, was wounded in the incident.

Quinones, 29, a resident of Mananga Bridge 1 in Barangay Tabunok, Talisay City, and Cansancio, 24, a resident of Barangay Lawaan 3, Talisay City, died on the spot, according to PO3 Glenn Besande, Talisay City Police Investigator.

Cortez is still recuperating at the Talisay City District Hospital.

Police are still investigating the motive of the shooting.

Earlier on Thursday morning, a 45-year-old man was also shot dead by two unidentified gunmen in Sitio Cemento, Barangay Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City.

The incident occurred at past 5 a.m on Thursday morning.

The victim, who sustained multiple gunshot wounds, was identified as Jose Peñafiel Antonio.

Based on the initial report from the police, Antonio was in a drinking session with his friends when he was shot dead. /bmjo
