As Bluewater Maribago Resort turns 30 this year, the resort laid out their plans geared towards becoming a more sustainable and environmentally friendly resort in the island.
After successfully concluding their strategic planning, Eric Monsanto, marketing and communications manager of the resort, said that Bluewater Maribago Resort had plans up to 2025 dubbed as “1200 85 12 25.”
According to Monsanto, the resort will now have 1,200 keys added to their inventory, set 85 percent as their standard in customer satisfaction rating, and support 12 United Nations Sustainable Development — all of which will be happening in 2025.
A new mid-rise building will soon be built at an adjacent property inside the resort, which will house new facilities and add more rooms to their inventory including a new restaurant.
Technology
In their step towards reducing their paper trail and carbon footprint, the resort recently invested on Virtual Reality (VR) technology and acquired few units of Oculus Go, an all-in-one virtual reality headset.
These Oculus Go will soon be used during their sales blitz, said Monsanto.
“Now our clients will no longer have to go to our resort to experience it, we can now show the resort on a virtual reality setup,” said Monsanto
Chatbots and Artificial Intelligence (AI) will also soon make their way in order to further develop customer experience, said Monsanto.
“With chatbots and AI integrated online, we can now learn the buying patterns as well as the preferences of our customers online,” he said.
Bluewater Maribago will also be integrating online streaming giants Netflix and Amazon Prime into their customer’s rooms.
“While you are here at the resort, you won’t miss any of your favorite shows online,” he added.
Sustainable tourism and Social Justice
In line with their support towards sustainable tourism, Bluewater Maribago has also integrated four goals which are: Life below water, responsible consumption of products, provide decent work and economic growth, and life on land.
With these goals, the resort gives importance on how global warming affects people’s day to day lives including the resort.
Through the concept of social justice, Bluewater Maribago ensures that individuals in the community will fulfill their societal roles.
“We generate jobs in order to minimize poverty, provide good health and well being, provide affordable and clean energy, and strengthen neighboring communities surrounding the resort to be more resilient to the effects of climate change,” said Monsanto.
As Bluewater Maribago set to celebrates its 30th anniversary, it hopes to take pride on building and gearing towards a more sustainable destination and at the forefront of environmental conservation, because there is nothing more important than providing Amuma to the environment and the society.
