LAPU-LAPU CITY, Philippines – Alfred Pacabis and Raven Faith Alcoseba took the male and female titles of the premiere six-kilometer competitive category of the 12th Olango Challenge held Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the Pacific Cebu Resort in Marigondon, this city.
Pacabis took the male title for the first time after clocking one hour, 37 minutes and 30 seconds (1:37:30).
Alcoseba clinched her second straight title in this event after crossing the finish line with a time of 1:41:33.
Both Pacabis and Alcoseba are from the City of Talisay.
The male one-kilometer competitive category was won by Christopher Negro while dominating the distaff side was Fionna Alcoseba, the younger sister of Raven Faith.
Negro clocked 20 minutes and 08.17 seconds while Alcoseba had a time of 19.35.
The inaugural 300-meter kiddie dash girl and boy titles were bagged by Dhexia Bersabal and Mike Gabrielle dela Serna.
Bersabal had a time of 4.31, while Dela Serna clocked 4.01.
The Olango Challenge is an open water swimming competition organized by the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) to help raise funds to build classrooms on Olango Island./dcb
